Providing legal advice to TUI Travel Group

asb law continues to advise global travel group, TUI Travel PLC (TUI), on employment law, dispute resolution, commercial matters, property and finance transactions. Recent activity includes:

We regularly advise specialist divisions of the TUI Travel group on general day-to-day management. 

We have advised on strategic implications of collective redundancy, changes to terms and conditions, dealing with trade union matters, and the enforceability of restrictive covenants on recruitment. We have also acted in various employment tribunals, dealing with overseas jurisdictional issues, alleged whistleblowing and age discrimination claims amongst others.

Throughout, we have worked with TUI to achieve the most appropriate commercial solution, taking into account the various risks and potential liabilities.

Recent corporate finance transactions have included:

  • Acquisition of The Hampstead School of English – a business and asset sale which included school premises and student accommodation. The employment team assisted with TUPE issues and our property lawyers managed the premises issues.
  • Sale of Dick’s Alpine Bars Limited – involving the acquisition of shares in the French group and the subsequent sale of the shares. asb’s IP team was involved in advising on an ongoing complicated IP dispute and assisted with the transfer of IP and goodwill out of the French subsidiaries to TUI, and a grant of an IP licence to the new owner.
